Resource Home

The Glossary Home has links to terminology and definitions.

Here are links to what I think are key industry resources:

The most comprehensive listing of industry credits.

General Code of Safety Practices for Production
An excellent website with loads of safety information for the industry.

The Black and Blue
A very good and often fun site for crew members with a specific focus (no pun intended) on camera assistants.

Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts
This not for profit organization recommends pro bono attorneys. A good place to get started.

One of two publications known collectively as “The Trades” this is in many ways the industry’s paper of record.

The Hollywood Reporter
The second member of “The Trades” tandem.

A terrific website that brings the latest news on independent film.

Filmmaker Magazine
Another great source of independent film news and information.

Screen Actors Guild
This link takes you to the SAG-AFTRA site’s Production Center where you can find information about all of their contracts.

Writers Guild of America West

Writers Guild of America East

Director’s Guild of America

Producers Guild of America

International Alliance of Theater and Stage Employees
The IATSE is made up of many “Locals” which have jurisdiction over various types of theatrical stage work in the U.S. and Canada. This link will take you to a Directory of those Locals.

Teamsters are also organized around geographic “Locals”. This link will take you to a Directory of those Locals.
